Structural engineers are responsible for designing and analyzing the structural components of a building or other structure to ensure it is safe, stable, and able to support the loads it will be subjected to during its lifetime. During the design phase, our engineers use calculations, computer models, and other analytical tools to determine the size, shape, and materials needed for the structural elements of a building. They also work with architects and other engineers to ensure that the structure meets all relevant building codes and regulations. During the documentation phase, structural engineers prepare detailed drawings and specifications that will be used by contractors and other construction professionals to build the structure. They also typically review and approve shop drawings and other construction documents and may conduct site inspections to ensure that the construction follows their designs.
